To construct a smart and sustainable forest city, the Indonesian Capital City Authority (IKN) is considering collaborating with Shenzhen, a city in the People's Republic of China (PRC). To create a smart and sustainable forest city, the IKN is learning from other developed cities. Shenzhen's 40-year metamorphosis is still a model for urban planning. Bambang Susantono, head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN), met with Shenzhen Mayor, Qin Weizhong, to discuss cooperation. On the occasion of a meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and PRC President Xi Jinping, the cooperation MoU was signed. OIKN's head visited UPDIS, an institution developing Shenzhen City, and saw smart city technology in action. The Mayor of Shenzhen discussed his experience constructing the city, which has grown from a small hamlet to a metropolis in 40 years. Shenzhen is one of the world's top 10 financial centers.
