The Indonesian government regulates public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) prices. These fees encourage businesses to promote SPKLU development and the Indonesian electric car ecosystem. Fast charging costs IDR 25,000, and ultrafast charging costs IDR 57,000. Jisman Hutajulu, Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), said the service price is an incentive for SPKLU business entities and hopes to increase the number of SPKLUs for quick and ultrafast charging.Indonesia has 842 SPKLU units—129 rapid charging and 47 ultrafast charging. 1,346 public electric motorbike battery exchange stations (SPBKLU) exist. Jisman advised businesses to work with mall, market, toll road, and other managers.The Indonesia-UNDP Enhancing Readiness for the Transition to Electric Vehicles in Indonesia (ENTREV) program is also being implemented by the government. Recharging electric vehicles at home costs IDR 1,699 per kWh, whereas SPKLU costs more. Electric car owners will need SPKLU for urgent long-distance trips.PLN helps SPKLU business actors by not needing subscription deposits and freeing up SPKLU designs without compromising service quality. Partner income calculation and distribution will be automated. Indonesia has few electric automobiles, with high prices and few models.
