DEVELOPMENT OF CRUCIAL ELECTRICITY INFRASTRUCTURE

Balancing regional electricity supply and demand requires electricity infrastructure development. Due to rising electricity consumption, Indonesia's electrification rate is predicted to reach 99.63 percent by 2022. Because Indonesia is an archipelago, Energy Watch Executive Director Daymas Arangga stresses the significance of decentralizing electrical energy supplies. South Sumatra's Sumsel 8 steam power plant (PLTU) in Tanjung Lalang, Muara Enim, will shortly begin operations. A 2 x 660 MW mine mouth PLTU will be evacuated via a 275 kV transmission. Hopes are high for a transmission evacuation to North Sumatra.China Huadian Hongkong Company Ltd. and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) developed PLN Sumsel 8. Electricity distribution is accelerated for seamless operation. Director of Project Management and New and Renewable Energy Wiluyo Kusdwiharto is ready to distribute PLTU Sumsel 8 (2 x 660 MW) electricity to Sumatra.Because energy sources are scattered and Java has the most load, transmission expansion is crucial for Indonesia's archipelago. Communication between islands will require Sumatra-Java transmission. Create electricity demand first, and data centers and smelters can absorb electricity. Emission reduction strategies and enhanced nationally determined contributions (ENDC) by 2030 must be followed. Renewable energy plants and strategies like using fuel oil for electric vehicles and electric or induction stoves to replace LPG can help shift from fossil to electric energy.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/08/06/pembangunan-infrastruktur-kelistrikan-krusial (ICE GIACARTA)
