Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US  Secretary of Treasury Jannet Yellen to discuss bilateral relations, JETP, and critical mineral policies. Luhut expressed gratitude for the strong relationship between Indonesia and the US and the importance of shared values and mutual respect in advancing cooperation. He emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations in 2024, which will be the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-United States diplomatic relations. The talks focused on enhancing cooperation in strategic fields such as maritime, defense, climate change, green infrastructure, and technology. Indonesia also appreciated US support during Indonesia's leadership in the G20 and praised ASEAN's priority as a key stakeholder in the region. The two agreed on the importance of US President Joe Biden's participation in the upcoming ASEAN Summit to enhance regional dialogue and collaboration.
