BPIPI STRENGTHENS THE FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY ECOSYSTEM THROUGH COLLABORATION

The Indonesian Footwear Industry Empowerment Center (BPIPI) is working to strengthen the footwear industry ecosystem by collaborating with the Indonesian Footwear Association (APRISINDO), the Confederation of International Footwear Associations, and Kristamedia. The center is promoting the Indo Leather Footwear exhibition and holding a business meeting to share BPIPI's programs and facilities for footwear businesses. BPIPI is also collaborating with the Directorate General of National Export Development (DJPEN) of the Ministry of Trade to provide information on exports to footwear Small and Medium Industry. The results of the discussions at The 40th International Footwear Conference and the 15th Indo Leather Footwear activities will be forwarded to relevant stakeholders to accommodate the needs of footwear Small and Medium Industry in accordance with the field conditions. The national footwear industry recorded an export value of US$1.6 billion in the first quarter of 2023, with incoming foreign investment reaching 190 million US dollars. BPIPI hopes that the export performance in the second quarter of 2023 can increase. To support the improvement of the footwear industry, BPIPI is developing an outsole for the 2022 Indonesia Footwear Creative Competition (IFCC) champion in collaboration with IFN partners SMID and Prabu Indonesia. The outsole is expected to provide benefits for the footwear industry with good-quality specifications and more affordable prices. (ICE GIACARTA)
