Bottled drinking water producers in Indonesia are collaborating with the Technology Service Center of the Innovation and National Research Agency (Pusyantek BRIN) to validate and calculate the positive impact on water (Positive Water Impact). The collaboration aims to achieve a Positive Water Impact commitment in Indonesia by 2030, aiming to return more water to nature and society compared to what is used in the production process. Validation studies have been conducted in three locations: Sukabumi and Lido, West Java, and Klaten, Central Java, and will be expanded to other operational areas until 2028. The company has developed integrated water conservation initiatives using a Watershed (DAS)-based approach from upstream to downstream. Azwar has collaborated with BRIN since 2021 in conducting validation studies using the water stewardship impact measurement method, adapted from the World Resources Institute's Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting (VWBA) methodology. The company's commitment to a positive water impact involves preserving water resources, encouraging water circulation in production systems, and increasing people's accessibility to clean water and sanitation. Pusyantek BRIN Head Dr.Yenni Bachtiar believes that innovation and study products can partner with new partners and increase the usability of research products, making a positive contribution to society.
