MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION: 678 TELEVISION STATIONS HAVE DIGITAL Terrestrial Broadcasts

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) announced that as of August 2, 2023, the public can enjoy terrestrial digital television broadcasts and leave analog terrestrial broadcasts behind. Broadcasting institutions providing multiplexing must use permanent frequency channels and maintain the quality of broadcast content to enhance the viewing experience. As of June 10, 2023, 591 terrestrial analog television stations have broadcast digital terrestrial, and 94 are in the process of migrating. As of July 25, 2023, 676 television stations broadcast digital terrestrial, and the remaining 10 are in the migration process. The Ministry has requested Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Centers in each province to ensure broadcasting institutions use the 700 megahertz frequency channel permanently, minimizing cellular signal blank spots. After full digital terrestrial broadcasting, broadcasting institutions must provide quality content, interactive services, and additional services to compete with multimedia content services available on over-the-top (OTT) platforms. The broadcasting industry can be optimistic again about increasing advertising growth and returning to normal before the COVID-19 pandemic.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/08/13/kemkominfo-678-stasiun-televisi-telah-bersiaran-digital-terestrial (ICE GIACARTA)
