GOVT APPROVES INITIAL ESTABLISHMENT OF TARBOUL INVESTMENT ZONE

CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba approved the request regarding establishing Tarboul City under an investment zone system. However, the license will be issued following Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly's approval. Tarboul city is set to be established on 26,000 acres in the desert of Atif city, North of Giza. The city will be an investment zone, which means it will be a business park or an industrial zone, and it is planned to include residential neighborhoods, office buildings, shopping malls, and finance offices, providing multiple services. The investment city costs around half a trillion Egyptian pounds, and is expected to provide around 75,000 job opportunities. Tarboul comes in parallel with the development strategy of “Egypt’s Vision 2030” to boost the development of green, smart cities.  The investment zone system currently includes 16 investment zones, 11 of which are already operating on a total area of 24,000 acres, comprising 1,269 projects with an investment volume of EGP 34 billion, and 90,000 job opportunities. Work at the remaining five investment zones, spanning over 2000 acres in Giza and Cairo, is still underway. These zones comprise 311 projects, providing 167,000 job opportunities, with investment amounting to EGP 157 billion.  (ICE IL CAIRO)
