Project involves developing coastal resorts along a 120km stretch of coastline extending south from the Jordanian border Saudi Arabia's Neom has selected a joint venture of the local Al-Ayuni Investment Company and Turkish contractor Limak Holding to deliver the early works for The Cube mountain resort at the Gulf of Aqaba in Neom. The scope of work includes enabling works, drilling of vertical and inclined boreholes, a drill and blast construction access tunnel, excavation works at the top of the mountain and other associated works. The main contract tender for the mountain top early works was issued in January. The Cube is a building that will be built on top of a mountain overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba. Each side of the Cube building will be about 100 metres. The Cube cluster includes two other tunnels as part of its development. There will be a tunnel each for the road and sea access. US-based Aecom is the consultant. In July 2022, Neom had sought project managers for the Gulf of Aqaba hotel components. Consultants submitted proposals for a contract to provide masterplanning studies for the Gulf of Aqaba in June 2021. The Gulf of Aqaba is a 120-kilometre-long coastal strip at Neom with an average width of 3.5km. The total land area is about 430 square km. The overall development involves constructing a series of hotels, including the Gas Station Hotel, which comprises two 500-metre-tall hotel towers on either side of the main highway serving the development and a low-rise resort. Neom project activity Project activities for several components of the Neom project in Tabuk have gathered pace.  This week that Neom has awarded the mountain tunnel package for The Line. In August, Neom advanced its plans to develop Shusha Island, briefing contractors on its development plans for the Shusha Island projects. Neom appointed the Greek contractor Archirodon to carry out the early works at the island in July. Last month, Neom also issued a tender inviting companies to bid for the track works of the railway network package of The Spine, which caters to The Line, the 170km-long development at Neom. Tendering activity is also taking place for the construction of the shell and core components of the Vault at Trojena.  the bid submission is ongoing.
