KSA will produce electric car manufacturer Ceer has received formal bids for the contract to build its first electric vehicle, production plant at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). The client is expected to award the main contract by the fourth quarter of this year.  The companies will be from China, KSA, Egypt, Greece, UAE and Türkiye that already have participated in the tender. Ceer is the second Electric vehicle company to set up a production plant at King Abdullah Economic City, In May 2022, Saudi-headquartered contractor Al-Bawani  signed agreements for constructing United States of America electric carmaker Lucid’s factory at King Abdullah Economic City. Ceer signed a land purchase agreement worth $95.7 million with master developer EMAAR, the Economic City, for land at King Abdullah Economic City that will be used to develop manufacturing facilities for electric vehicles. The 1 million M square site is located in Industrial Valley, near King Abdullah Port. Vehicles are scheduled to be available from 2025 onwards. Foxconn will license component technology from BMW (from Germany) for use in the vehicle development process.   (ICE RIYADH)
