LOGISTICS IS THE KEY DRIVER TO ACHIEVING HIGH-QUALITY ECONOMIC GROWTH: HARTARTO

Indonesia is committed to improving national logistics performance through the implementation of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) as an information system and agency-business collaboration to increase logistics efficiency. "If we can improve (our logistics issues), more investment will produce better results," stated Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto at the New Era of Logistics Costs for Golden Indonesia 2045 conference on Thursday (14/9). By 2023, 32 seaports and six airports will install NLE. Implementation evaluations indicate favorable impacts from NLE action plan implementations, such as Single Submission Quarantine Customs (SSm QC), which increased efficiency by 22% and reduced expenses by 33%. Hartarto said the government was diverting its focus away from Java. The government wants to boost port utilization above 50% and logistics in eastern Indonesia. The government expects this will balance provincial economic growth. Hartarto also urged stakeholder engagement to improve national logistics and supply chains with infrastructure and human resources. Suharso Monoarfa, the National Development Planning Minister and chairman of BAPPENAS, aims to cut Indonesia's logistics expenses to 9% of GDP by 2045. BAPPENAS found that Indonesia's domestic and export logistics expenses account for 14.29% and 8.98% of GDP, respectively, Monoarfa said.Link di fonte: https://en.antaranews.com/news/293655/logistics-as-main-key-in-national-economic-growth-minister (ICE GIACARTA)
