Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture is implementing a Community Palm Oil Rejuvenation (PSR) program covering 10,000 hectares in Riau Province. Director General Andi Nur Alam Syah discussed the issue at a meeting with the Governor of Riau Syamsuar. He stated that collaboration is needed to maintain the palm oil area and increase productivity in Riau Province. Despite being Indonesia's main palm oil producing province, many oil palms are already 20–25 years old, so the PSR Program must be implemented quickly and evenly distributed. Replanting of people's palm oil for 2023 could be carried out through partnership channels or official channels. The target is to include 20,000 hectares in 2023, while Riau has a target of 10,000 hectares. PSR can be done through partnerships with companies, the state, or the private sector, as well as through official channels. There are already regulations governing farmers and plantations applying for the PSR Program. However, there are still several plantations entering forest areas, making it difficult for them to carry out replanting. The government cannot provide funding for replanting if the plantation is still in a forest area and does not comply with requirements.
