ENI committed to investing more in Indonesian oil and gas exploration. Indonesia is a key international portfolio for the Italian oil and gas company. Director of ENI Muara Bakau BV Roberto Daniele said ENI and PT Pertamina (Persero) are collaborating on Mahakam Block exploration. Roberto expects this agreement would boost the two companies' oil and gas reserves. At the 4th International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas Industry 2023 (ICIUOG) in Badung, Bali, Friday (22/9/2023), Roberto remarked, "We are working with Pertamina to investigate blocks in Mahakam to find more oil and gas sources In addition, ENI will drill further exploration wells in the following four years. This pledge reflects Indonesia's importance in the company's portfolio, he said. ENI is finishing the development plan (PoD) of Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) phase II, he noted. ENI will split the IDD oil and gas project operational zones into north and south concentrations. The field PoD proposed by Eni divides the deep sea oil and gas block into two operational regions. This step integrates their Jangkrik Field concession, Muara Bakau Block, and Merakes Field, East Sepinggan Block assets.
