KAZAKHSTAN-GERMANY-DRUZHBA-PIPELINE

Kazakhstan is ready to increase oil supplies to Germany via Druzhba pipeline – TokayevPresident of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the readiness to increase the volume of oil supplies through Druzhba oil pipeline.“One of our priorities is the further development of cooperation in the energy sector. As you know, thanks to our agreements, since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan has sent 500 thousand tonnes of oil to Germany through the Druzhba  oil pipeline.(…) I confirm our country’s readiness to increase the oil supplies volume and give them a long-term character,” Tokayev said at a press conference following negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The President of Kazakhstan arrived in Germany on an official visit, he will also participate in a meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Germany.On September 27, during Transneft PJSC President visit to Kazakhstan, an agreement on the provision of services for the transportation of Kazakh oil in transit through the territory of Russia for 2024 and an updated memorandum of cooperation between Transneft PJSC and KazTransOil JSC was signed. Kazakhstan oil is transported through the Transneft system towards the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany, as Europe seeks to reduce dependence on Russian oil.Previously, the annual transit of Kazakh oil through the Russian Federation amounted to 15 million tonnes. Since February of this year, Kazakhstan began supplying oil to Germany via Druzhba oil pipeline. Plans for the current year provide for at least 890,000 tonnes of oil. In 2024, Kazakhstan plans to transport 1.2 million tonnes of oil to Germany via Druzhba oil pipeline. (ICE ALMATY)
