Siemens Energy set to contribute to Kazakhstan's energy projects, including equipment supplyKazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliev, met with Siemens Energy representatives during his trip to Germany to discuss potential collaborations on major energy projects in Kazakhstan."The company is prepared to participate in Kazakhstan's energy projects and is interested in supplying equipment. Further details of cooperation with Siemens Energy will be finalized in the near future," according to the Ministry's press service.The Ministry of Energy is working with Siemens Energy on several projects, including a 1,000 MW combined cycle plant in the Turkestan region, enhancing electrical networks in western and southern Kazakhstan, and constructing electrical grid facilities.Furthermore, there are ongoing projects to convert Almaty CHPP-2 (600 MW) and CHPP-3 (480 MW) from coal to gas, using Siemens Energy technology.Siemens Energy was established in 2020 when Siemens AG spun off its business related to equipment production for gas, coal, and wind power plants into a standalone company. Siemens Energy operates across the entire energy spectrum, covering energy production, transmission, and storage. The company offers solutions for both traditional and renewable energy generation, including technologies like gas and steam turbines, hydrogen-powered hybrid power plants, generators, and transformers.
