Achema, a Jonava-based nitrogen fertilizer plant owned by Achema Grupe (Achema Group), plans to build a production unit for granulated nitrate fertilizers, the vz.lt business news website reports.The new plant's capacity would stand at 0.5 million tons per year, according to the website. Achema produced 1.4 million tons of fertilizers last year and made 2.22 million tons in 2021.The company has refrained from commenting on planned investments.If the project is approved, the new activity would include the preparation and concentration of ammonium nitrate melt, the preparation, mixing and pelletizing of flour at dolomite-anhydrite and ammonium sulphate mills. The plan is to build new warehouses and a new hub for loading raw materials and products. (ICE VARSAVIA)
