LITHUANIA: TELTONIKA TO INVEST EUR 75 MLN IN VILNIUS PLANT

Lithuanian high-tech group Teltonika has received permission to build a new electronics assembly plant in Vilnius.The group will invest about 75 million euros in the project in the Teltonika High-Tech Hill technology park and create 700 jobs, it said in a press release.“We need a bigger plant in view of the planned expansion of the Teltonika Group, as we are growing at a rate of several tens of percent every year. This project is also to meet the increased demand for contract manufacturing from other companies," the press release quoted Arvydas Paukstys, founder and president of Teltonika Group, as saying.The new plant will be built in Liepkalnis, next to the Teltonika EMS electronics assembly plant, in about a year and a half. It will have a capacity of more than 18 million products per year.The Teltonika High-Tech Hill Technology Park will include 10 new production buildings and offices, to be built in phases over five years, and will employ around 6,000 people.In August, Teltonika started construction of a printed circuit board factory, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, at a total investment of around 143 million euros, bringing the total investment in the park to around 3.7 billion euros.Teltonika has offices in 21 countries around the world and employs around 2,500 people.
