GIANT GAS RESERVES FOUND IN EAST KALIMANTAN SEA

The North Ganal Working Area in East Kalimantan possesses 5 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves, according to Eni. The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities named it one of the top three exploration discoveries of 2023. The Geng North-1 Well, drilled to 5,025 meters with a water depth of 1,947 meters, might help create a new production hub in the northern Kutai Basin connected to the Bontang LNG complex on East Kalimantan's coast. The finding of gas reserves will boost national gas output, according to SKK Migas head Dwi Soetjipto. He urged Eni to produce the identified gas reserves quickly to boost national gas supply and ensure development assistance, particularly gas downstreaming. Together with Neptune Energy North Ganal BV and Agra Energy I Pte Ltd., Eni North Ganal Limited owns 50.22 PI in North Ganal. The discovery should attract upstream oil and gas investors. As of 2030, the Abadi Masela Project is planned to produce 1,600 million cubic feet of gas per day, or 9.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/10/02/cadangan-gas-raksasa-ditemukan-di-laut-kalimantan-timur (ICE GIACARTA)
