Zulkifli Hasan, Indonesia's minister of trade, announced that various related ministries and institutions had decided on a positive list of goods that were acceptable for import. The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and other ministries will compile the list, and they will distribute it to traders at the Cililitan Wholesale Center in Jakarta. The Ministry of Trade cannot determine the list of goods permitted for import alone, as imported goods are closely related to other ministries such as the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Agriculture. Imported products must meet the criteria of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and include a certificate from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). The BPOM determines the suitability of a product, and if it has a Harmonized System Code (HS) number, it is considered suitable.
