HCMC – The Party Central Committee will conduct a comprehensive review of a new wage system set to be implemented on July 1, 2024.Speaking at the opening on October 2 of the 8th plenum of the Party Central Committee, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized the need for this review.He urged a detailed examination of state budget and economic reports for 2023 and 2024. The focus is to identify achievements and challenges, including concerns related to macroeconomic stability, legislative deficiencies, and risks in financial markets and the real estate sector.The outcomes of this assessment will serve as the foundation for defining objectives and solutions for the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024, with particular attention to the successful implementation of the new wage regime.General Secretary Trong underlined the need to enhance the quality and efficiency of social policy in Vietnam. While acknowledging progress made over the past decade, he also highlighted persistent shortcomings. He called for in-depth discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current situation, its underlying causes, and the lessons learned.These discussions are intended to facilitate a scientific analysis of the evolving context, new requirements, and objectives. This includes the definition of guiding principles, goals, and primary solutions to improve social policy and align them more closely with the aspirations of the people.General Secretary Trong said that the Party Central Committee evaluate the 20-year implementation of the resolution adopted at the 7th session of the 9th Party Central Committee, which focused on building an intellectual workforce capable of meeting the demands of the new development era.The committee will also review a decade of implementing the 9th Party Central Committee’s resolution on strategies for safeguarding the nation in a changing landscape.
