POLAND: FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS ON THE RISE

The National Bank of Poland (NBP) has reported that in 2022, foreign direct investments amounted to PLN140.3bn, compared with PLN114.2bn in 2021, which means that last year FDI accounted for 4.5% of the GDP, compared with 4% a year earlier. According to the central bank, in 2022 reinvestments of profits totaled PLN75.8bn, inflow of capital against debt instruments amounted to PLN 35.7bn, and inflow of capital against shares and other equity instruments came to PLN28.8bn. As in 2021, a high percentage of reinvested profits was recorded in the case of countries with the highest FDIs, i.e. the Netherlands (PLN16.5bn), Germany (PLN16.3bn) and Luxembourg (PLN11.9bn).
