THERE NEED TO BE RESTRICTIONS ON IMPORTED PRODUCTS ON E-COMMERCE PLATFORMS

The Indonesian government needs to increase the promotion of domestic products on social commerce and e-commerce platforms while setting a minimum limit on the portion of local products promoted or traded. Program Director of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Esther Sri Astuti believes that the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 31/2023 provides a large promotional space for Indonesian products but does not provide complete certainty regarding price range limits and types of imported products traded in e-commerce. Researcher Nailul Huda also suggests that the government should regulate a minimum portion of 30% of domestic products displayed in window displays in online trading. He also sees that all Trade Organizing Platforms through Electronic Systems (PPMSE) should label the origin of goods to help the government determine if there is a flood of imported goods. The government must empower domestic producers, especially MSMEs, to move up in class and reduce imports. The Ministry of Communication and Information has a mentoring and business incubation facilitation program to foster MSMEs, with a target of 4,700 from four classifications. The Proudly Made in Indonesia campaign supports MSMEs nationally, and export advisor Titan Sabtian believes that products made by MSMEs have great potential. Tiktok Indonesia will continue to respect applicable laws and take a constructive path forward.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2023/10/03/platform-social-commerce-dan-e-dagang-semestinya-pasang-jumlah-minimal (ICE GIACARTA)
