SKK MIGAS: ENI WANTS TO BUILD A NEW FLOATING PRODUCTION FACILITY IN NORTH GANAL

Eni is set to build a new floating production unit (FPU) facility in the Kutai Basin off the coast of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The company has identified potential gas resources reaching 5 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) with a condensate content of around 400 Mbbls from the Geng North-1 exploration well in the North Ganal Block. The Jangkrik FPU will be for the south, while a new hub will be built in Jangkrik due to its already full capacity of Merakes and Muara Bakau. Eni is also submitting a revised IDD field development plan to SKK Migas, which divides the concentration of IDD work into two regions. The southern part of the IDD will be connected to the Jangkrik FPU, while the northern part, close to the current location of the giant gas discovery, will be connected to the North Ganal development block. The new facilities will be channeled to the Bontang Refinery, which is currently experiencing uncertainty in gas supply due to decreasing production in several oil and gas blocks. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has targeted Eni's discovery of giant gas reserves from the Geng North-1 exploration well to produce production within the next two years.Link di fonte: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20231003/44/1700634/skk-migas-eni-mau-bangun-fasilitas-produksi-apung-baru-di-north-ganal (ICE GIACARTA)
