NEOM APPOINTS SINDALAH MEP CONTRACTOR

Saudi Arabia's Neom has selected a local company, Saudi Taab Contracting, to carry out the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works on its cluster three resort at Sindalah island in Neom. The contract scope includes the installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, firefighting equipment, plumbing systems, liquefied petroleum gas systems, power distribution, generators and lighting systems. In January this year, Neom selected BEC Arabia to construct three leisure projects on clusters three, four and six of Sindalah island. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. The contractors had been invited to bid for the main works package to deliver clusters 3 to 6 of Sindalah Island. The assets have been split across two mandatory packages. Package one includes the ultra-luxury and upper-upscale resorts, the beach and sports clubs and the golf clubhouse, while the second package comprises Luxury Resort South. Assets in package one have a combined gross floor area (GFA) of about 37,605 sq m, while the second package’s GFA is 48,968 sq m. The scope of the contract includes procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, with completion scheduled in December 2023 for package one assets and November 2024 for package two assets.
