The latest data from IBRM Samar show that during the first eight months this year more than 311,000 new passenger cars and vans were registered in Poland, which represents an increase by 11 percent in the corresponding period in 2022. Still, although the registration figure looks promising, the average monthly number of new car registrations, i.e. less than 39,000, is a whopping 25 percent lower than that recorded in 2019, when 52,000 new cars were registered per month on average. Commenting on the matter, Carsmile’s deputy CEO Michał Knitter notes that although Polish society is getting richer, cars that are a dozen or so years old and that are often in a questionable technical condition prevail on Polish roads.
