Messico: S Riko annuncia nuovo investimento a QuerétaroThe automotive manufacturer S-Riko expanded its production plant, located in the metropolitan municipality of El Marqués in the O'Donnell Industrial Park.For this project, the Japanese company invested US$17.8 million and added 200 jobs.This production center is strategically located between Central and North America, said Kazushi Shimizu, president of Sumitomo Riko Company Limited of Japan.The executive said that this plant, which manufactures anti-vibration products, will be positioned as the main plant in the sector. The company, he said, currently has 100 plants in 20 countries.Sumimoto Riko's first plant in Mexico was installed in 2012; now, it operates two production centers in Chihuahua and one in Querétaro. And in 2017, it launched the new S-Riko company name in the state, dedicated mainly to producing anti-vibration systems and aesthetic internal parts."S-Riko's expansion will favor Querétaro's presence both nationally and internationally, by participating in the manufacture of anti-vibration products and interior parts, specifically in the headrests of automotive seats," explained the Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.The state secretary emphasized that the new plant establishes sustainable actions towards 2050, which are in line with the entity's environmental agenda.With this project, he explained, 10 investments in the automotive sector have been made in the state in 2023, totaling US$652 million and the incorporation of 3,879 jobs.
