IRAQ TO INCREASE GAS PRODUCTION AT SIBA

Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil has announced plans to increase gas production from the Siba Gas Field in Basra to 100 million cubic feet per day. Currently, the field produces 50-60 million cubic feet daily, and the goal is to double that output.During a recent inspection visit to the Siba Gas Field in Basra, Hayan Abdul-Ghani highlighted the field's importance and its current production levels. He also noted that the field generates 1,200 tons of liquefied gas and 1,000 barrels of condensates. Additionally, the field utilizes self-generated power for its operations and facilities.Advanced technology and horizontal drilling techniques are being employed to maximize gas extraction from the border field. This visit is part of an ongoing effort to monitor gas investment projects aimed at enhancing national production.The General Manager of the Basra Oil Company (BOC), Basem Abdul Kareem, provided details on the gas processing facility, which has a capacity of 55 million cubic feet per day on each side. Ten wells have been drilled at the field, with plans to increase the number to reach the available production capacities. The Siba Gas Field is one of the fields included in the third licensing round. (ICE AMMAN)
