IRAN, KYRGYZSTAN URGE EXPANDING ECONOMIC COOPERATION

Iran's First Vice President and Kyrgyz Prime Minister have called for expanding economic cooperation, including the establishment of a rail corridor, helping in the construction of refineries, buying and selling bitumen and grains, establishing commercial centers, as well as building power plants.Mohammad Mokhber who has traveled to the capital of Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, met and held talks with Akylbek Japarov on Wednesday.During the meeting, which was attended by Iran’s ministers of oil, transport and urban development, and some heads of relevant organizations, important agreements were made to expand the cooperation between the two sides.Following the resulting agreements between the senior officials of the two countries, the ministers of the road were tasked to launch a rail corridor from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran.Also, Iran’s Oil Ministry and Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic were missioned to plan for helping to set up Kyrgyz refineries, as well as produce gasoline and purchase bitumen.Referring to the surprising advance in technical engineering services of Iran, Japarov requested the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide the necessary groundwork for the construction of a power plant in this country as soon as possible.
