Astana, Paris set to expand uranium deposit development during Macron's visitDuring President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Astana, Kazakhstan and France are expected to agree on the expansion of uranium deposit development in the country through the KATCO joint venture, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said."Today, we will discuss the collaboration through the KATCO joint venture, where Orano Mining JSC holds a 51% stake. The focus is on the development of uranium deposits in Kazakhstan," Satkaliev told reporters on Wednesday.KATCO LLP, a joint venture of  Orano Mining JSC (51%) and National Atomic Company Kazatomprom (49%), specializes in uranium production through in situ recovery methods at the Muyunkum deposit in the Turkistan region.
