DECLINES IN BOTH EXPORTS AND IMPORTS
According to the latest data from the National Bank of Poland (NBP), in September 2023 exports fell by 4.3 percent y/y to EUR27,517m while imports dropped by 14.8 percent y/y to EUR26,716m. As noted by the central bank, the declines in both exports and imports compared to the year-earlier period were driven by price falls, which are observed not only in fuels and supply goods, but also in a growing range of final products. Other factors include an economic slowdown in countries being Poland’s major trading partners and a weaker domestic demand. (ICE VARSAVIA)
