KAZAKHSTAN-AZERBAIJAN-UZBEKISTAN-ENERGY

Baku, Astana, and Tashkent collaborate on electricity exports to Europe via AzerbaijanAzerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan have joined forces to draft a feasibility study and create a joint venture for electricity export, as reported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.This agreement was signed at a recent meeting of the ministers of economy and energy from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, who gathered to explore the potential of exporting electricity from Central Asian countries to Europe via Azerbaijan.Azerbaijan, in partnership with Georgia, Romania, and Hungary, is actively developing the Caspian Sea - Black Sea - Europe export corridor, aiming for a capacity of 4 GW. The Nakhchivan-Turkey-Europe route is set to facilitate the transit of more than 1 GW of green energy.Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan's involvement in these initiatives is expected to bolster their electricity markets, promote collaboration in producing green hydrogen and ammonia, and fortify regional energy security.All parties recognized the vital importance of sustainable development through greater electricity generation and the widespread use of renewable energy sources.
