The Polish Economic Institute (PIE) has reported that pet food is one of key commodity groups in Polish exports, adding that in the 2013-2022 period, the value of Polish pet exports soared by a staggering 461 percent, with the volume of these exports rising by a whopping 180 percent. The data compiled by the PIE also show that with a value of EUR1.9bn in 2022, pet food exports accounted for 0.5 percent of the total value of Polish exports and for 4 percent of the value of agri-food exports. Meanwhile, the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) show that Poland exports mainly dog and cat food, the value of which reached EUR1.6bn in 2022, representing more than 84 percent of the value and 76 percent of the volume of these exports.
