STRATEGIC FOOD PROJECT LAUNCHED

A major national food production project has launched, aiming to yield substantial local stocks. Minister Wael Al Mubarak announced the project's kickoff, foreseeing over 520 tonnes of local farm produce by next year and plans for shrimp aquafarming among various fisheries aquafarms in 2024.The initiative aligns with directives from His Majesty King Hamad at the National Assembly's recent session. Minister Al Mubarak highlighted these developments during the Bahrain Animal Production Show (Mara’ee 2023), graced by the King and featuring heritage showcases, musical performances, and European displays.The event, endorsed by the King, opens its doors to the public, offering insights into the latest technologies in animal husbandry and global animal breeds. Attendees can explore exhibits from animal traders, fostering exchange and advertising opportunities.Minister Al Mubarak emphasized the King's guidance in implementing strategic food production initiatives, highlighting plans to enhance poultry production, expand innovative aquafarming, and facilitate agricultural investment. Efforts are underway to draft legislation safeguarding marine wealth for present and future generations.The event also showcased musical performances and accolades presented by the King to outstanding contributors in various animal categories.
