The local community, in cooperation with Lattakia Agriculture Directorate, launched an afforestation campaign in the northern countryside of the province within the framework of preserving forests and vegetation and ensuring the safety of the environment from the dangers of fires.  40 person participated in the campaign from different ages who carried out the work of transporting and planting saplings, as 500 pine seedlings were planted on an area of two and a half hectares.  Afforestation campaigns are environmental activities that encourage community participation and educate people about the importance of preserving the environment and contribute to compensating the loss of vegetation cover due to fires.
