ordan's trade balance with the US in the first nine months of 2023 achieved a surplus of JD558 million, official data revealed on Sunday.The data, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, indicated that the trade volume between Jordan and the US totalled JD2.4 billion by the end of September this year, compared with JD2.3 billion during the same period of 2022.The value of Jordanian exports to the US market saw a slight decline of 2.2 per cent by the end of September this year to JD1.480 billion compared with JD1.513 billion during the January-September period of last year.The value of Jordan's imports from the US showed an increase of 16.3 per cent by the end of this year's September, reaching JD922 million, as opposed to JD793 million during the same period of 2022.Statistical analysis revealed that Jordan's exports to the US market mainly included clothing and accessories, jewellery, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, IT services, food, livestock and engineering industries.Jordan's imports from the US included metal goods, transportation equipment, machinery, electronic devices, grains, chemical products, medical devices, food items, animal products, furniture, iron items, used clothing, vegetable oil and wood.
