Klaipėda's electric water buses on the Danė river had a successful pilot season, exceeding expectations with nearly 9,000 passengers from mid-June to October. Due to high demand, plans for next year include an earlier start to the season, increased speed, an additional boat during peak periods, and possibly higher fares. Currently running at a loss of 16,000 euros (far less than the projected 50,000 euros loss), the service was priced below market rates as a political decision, with most passengers not being Klaipėda residents. While 54 percent paid via bank card, efforts will be made to balance costs and revenues next year, likely leading to tariff revisions.
