The Polish Oil Industry and Trade Organisation (POPiHN) has reported that three quarters into 2023, total consumption of all six types of fuel reached 28.3 million cubic metres, 6 percent more than in the year-earlier period, with domestic production being supplemented by imports of just over 11 million cubic metres, which accounted for 39 percent of the market. As noted by the POPiHN, in the period analysed the liquid fuels market in Poland was stimulated by a number of factors, including the war in Ukraine, the need to change the directions of oil and fuel supply as well as high fuel prices in Q1 of 2023.
