Kazakhstan to supply 150,000 tonnes of oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline in DecKazTransOil JSC plans to supply 150,000 tonnes of oil to Germany in December 2023, the company’s press service reported."In December 2023, KazTransOil JSC plans to supply 150,000 tonnes of Kazakh oil to Germany. In January-November 2023, the volume of transportation of Kazakh oil through the trunk oil pipeline system of Transneft PJSC in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany amounted to 843,000 tonnes,” the company reported.The transit is carried out within the framework of the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation dated June 7, 2002.Kazakhstan began supplying oil to Germany through the Druzhba oil pipeline as part of the diversification of its oil export routes. For 2023, the Kazakh company KazTransOil has a quota from the Russian Transneft to pump 1.2 million tonnes of oil to Germany. The first batch was supplied in February 2023.In August, it was reported that Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO, operator of the Karachaganak field development) plans to transport 1.2 million tonnes of oil via the Druzhba oil pipeline in 2024.At the end of October, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said that Kazakhstan could increase oil exports to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline from 1.2 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes per year, the final volume will be determined after negotiations.KazTransOil JSC, part of National Company KazMunayGas, is a natural monopolist in the sector of oil transportation through pipelines.
