POLAND TO RECEIVE NEARLY EUR 18.5 BLN EU FUNDS UNDER KPO PLAN IN 2024

Poland in 2024 should receive a total of almost EUR 18.5 billion of EU funds under its national recovery programme (KPO) from the first three applications, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy told PAP Biznes. This amount includes nearly EUR 8 billion from the grants part and nearly EUR 10.5 billion from the loan part. "Under first application, the total expected inflow is about EUR 6.9 billion, including nearly EUR 2.7 billion in grants and about EUR 4.2 billion in loans. The inflow is expected in April 2024," the ministry said. It added that the inflow of funds expected under the second payment application is about EUR 6.3 billion, with funds expected to flow in the fourth quarter of 2024.Approximately EUR 5.2 billion is expected under the third payment application, also in the fourth quarter of 2024. "As the REPowerEU advance was disbursed at the end of December 2023 (the loan part of more than EUR 4.5 billion has already been transferred to Poland), the amount of the advance will be proportionally deducted from subsequent payment requests," the funds ministry stressed. In addition, Poland plans to submit the fourth and fifth payment applications to the European Commission in the second half of 2024. The transfers themselves related to the implementation of both payment applications are expected in the first half of 2025.  (ICE VARSAVIA)
