On January 1, 2024, a new law came into force, which obliges the seller to charge the end user an additional fee for plastic contained in single-use containers.The amount of the fee varies depending on the type of packaging, in the case of a cup it is 20 groszy and for any other packaging 25 groszy. The funds collected as part of the mandatory fee are to be allocated to a fund promoting ecological solutions.The new law is the result of the amendment of April 2023 regarding the Act on the obligations of entrepreneurs regarding the management of certain waste and the product fee.
