PKP Intercity has reported that in 2023 it carried more than 68 million passengers, which is the highest figure on record and 15 % higher than the figure for 2022, adding that in 2024 it expects to carry more than 70 million passengers. According to PKP Intercity, the upward trend in passenger numbers is due to a number of measures taken by the company, including train ticket deals and discounts as well as the launch of the PKP Intercity mobile app. As noted by the carrier, the app has already been downloaded nearly 1.1 million times from Google Play and App Store, with more than 2.7 million tickets sold via the app to the tune of more than PLN160m.
