The trade union operating in FCA Powertrain, a company specialising in the production of advanced technology engines and a unit of the Stellantis group, has announced that the company has been put into liquidation. According to the union, collective redundancies are to cover the entire workforce and they will continue until December 2024. The decision to shut down the production plant was prompted by the European Commission’s plan to adopt regulations that will effectively ban the sale of internal combustion cars and by a decline in orders for internal combustion engines.
