KAZAKHSTAN-EAEU-AGREEMENT-AMENDMENTS

Kazakh parliament ratifies amendments to EAEU AgreementThe Senate, the upper chamber of Kazakhstan’s parliament, adopted on Thursday the Law on Ratification of the Protocol of Amendments to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014.The document is now sent to the Kazakh president for signature. One of the objectives of the amendments is to allow for an online issue of phytosanitary certificates and state registration certificates, senator Sergey Karplyuk said. The amendments to the agreement are concerned with technical regulation, veterinary and sanitary measures, macroeconomic and foreign trade policies, transportation and indirect taxes.Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev said earlier that a total of 106 amendments would be made to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).The agreement will also allow for a repeated anti-dumping investigation if third-country producers undervalue the export price, as a result of which the previous anti-dumping measure failed to prevent damage to the economy of the EAEU member states. According to the amendments the anti-dumping duties can now be increased, Shakkaliyev said. (ICE ALMATY)
