Central Asia Metals posted 3.1% decrease in copper production in 2023(paragraph 3 corrected)Central Asia Metals plc (CAML) produced 13,816 tonnes of copper at the Kounrad project in Kazakhstan in 2023, which is a decrease of 3.1% compared with the previous year when the company produced 14,254 tonnes, CAML said in a press release.The output of contained zinc at the Sasa zinc-lead mine in North Macedonia fell by 5.3% to 20,338 tonnes, and production of lead concentrate increased by 1.6% to 27,794 tonnes.The company’s production guidance for 2024 is 13,000 to 14,000 tonnes of copper, 19,000 to 21,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 27,000 to 29,000 tonnes of lead concentrate.Central Asia Metals, an AIM-listed UK company based in London, owns 100% of the Kounrad SX-EW copper project in central Kazakhstan and the Sasa zinc-lead mine in North Macedonia.CAML shareholders include Blackrock Investment (7.31%), JO Hambro Capital Management (7.71%), Fidelity International (7.03%), Hargreaves Lansdown (5.5%), Polar Capital (4.47%), T Rowe Price Global Investments (4.1%) and others.CAML’s shares have been traded in the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange since 2010.
