Kazakhstan to supply 100,000 tonnes of oil to Germany in Jan, 1.2 mln tonnes in 2024KazTransOil JSC plans to supply 100,000 tonnes of oil to Germany in January 2024, the company said in a press release on Friday.“According to oil transportation schedule approved by the Energy Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazTransOil JSC is to export 100,000 tonnes of Kazakh oil to Germany in January 2024,” the press release says.In 2024, KazTransOil plans to transport for Germany up to 1.2 million tonnes of Kazakh oil via the pipeline system of Russia’s Transneft PJSC towards to Adamova Zastava, a custody transfer metering station in Poland near the Belarussian border.In the twelve months of 2023, Kazakhstan supplied 993,000 tonnes of oil to Germany vs. the quota of 1.2 million tonnes.Kazakhstan began supplying oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline as part of ongoing efforts to diversify oil export routes. For 2023, KazTransOil had a quota from the Russian Transneft to pump 1.2 million tonnes of oil to Germany. The first batch was supplied in February 2023.It was reported in August 2023 that Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO), the operator of the Karachaganak field development, planned to transport 1.2 million tonnes of oil via the Druzhba oil pipeline in 2024.In October 2023, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said that Kazakhstan could increase oil exports to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline from 1.2 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes per year, the final volume would be determined after negotiations.KazTransOil JSC, part of National Company KazMunayGas, is a natural monopolist in the sector of oil transportation through pipelines.
