The National Bank of Poland (NBP) has reported that in November 2023 the current account of the balance of payments posted surpluses in the services account (PLN12.9bn) and trade in goods account (PLN1bn), and deficits in the primary income account (PLN7.9bn) and the secondary income account (PLN0.3bn). The data show a surplus of PLN5.8bn in the country’s current account, compared to a deficit of PLN3.5bn in the corresponding month of 2022. The central bank also noted that the downward trend in trade in goods had continued in November 2023, with the value of goods exports reaching PLN131bn, 8.3 percent less y/y. (ICE VARSAVIA)
