POLISH ZLOTY AT ITS STRONGEST SINCE 2008

In 2023, the Polish currency strengthened by ca. 8 % against the euro, more than 11 % against the US dollar and 5.6% against the British pound. In nominal terms, the Polish zloty is at its strongest against the euro since the spring of 2020 while if one adjusts for inflation in Poland and its main trading partners, the real effective exchange rate of the zloty is at its highest since 2008. However, the upward trend, which has now been in place for almost a year, may be difficult to sustain in the long term. (ICE VARSAVIA)
