KAZAKHSTAN-OIL-PRODUCTION-TARGET

Kazakhstan targets slight increase in 2024 oil production to 90.3 million tonnes Kazakhstan aims to produce 90.3 million tonnes of oil in 2024, a 0.3% increase compared to the previous year, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.“The target for 2024 is 90.3 million tonnes,” the Ministry’s press service reported on Tuesday.Last week, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev acknowledged that by the end of 2023, the country had achieved nearly 90 million tonnes of oil production, falling short of the initial goal of 93 million tonnes. The Minister attributed this shortfall to maintenance work at oil enterprises and the country's commitment to the OPEC+ deal.Kazakhstan committed to reducing oil production by 82,000 barrels per day from January to March 2024, and had earlier announced a voluntary reduction of 78,000 barrels per day in April 2023, lasting until December 2024.
