Astana and Beijing considering construction of warehouses in KazakhstanAstana and Beijing are mulling over construction of warehouses in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev said.“In pursuance of the president’s instructions, we expect to make a decision, together with the Chinese side, about construction of regional warehouses in Kazakhstan by the end of 2024 in order to stimulate cross-border e-commerce,” Shakkaliyev said at a Tuesday meeting of the government.Also, Kazakhstan will continue development of the fulfillment centers and bonded warehousing chain in Aktobe and Aktau, the minister said.New bonded warehouses will be used to store goods sold through large foreign marketplaces for their further transportation from China to Europe and vice versa. As a result, the delivery time for foreign goods to Kazakhstan’s buyers will reduce to 7 from 60 days, Shakkaliyev said. (ICE ALMATY)
