Russia resumes Kazakh meat and milk imports after two-year hiatusRussia has removed restrictions on the import of livestock products from Kazakhstan, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. The decision follows agreements reached in December during negotiations between Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, and his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Patrushev.The statement on Tuesday outlined that "the eligible products for export to Russia, include beef, lamb, pork, milk, dairy products, and meat products."The Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture noted that the import restrictions imposed in January 2022, attributed to veterinary concerns such as foot and mouth disease in certain Kazakh regions, have been lifted."After a two-year hiatus, the market is now open to suppliers of livestock products from Kazakh regions officially recognized as having vaccination-free status by the World Organization for Animal Health, with ongoing efforts in other regions,” the Ministry said.The Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, however, did not specify the particular Kazakh regions authorized to supply products to the Russian market.
